PAST/forward: Robotically Fabricated Affordable Housing

This project will create a full-scale affordable housing prototype using digital design and robotic fabrication technologies to demonstrate how innovative construction methods can help address housing affordability challenges. The prototype will serve as a public education and engagement space where visitors can explore emerging approaches to housing design and construction firsthand.

Through demonstrations, lectures, presentations, and community events, the project will share knowledge about the potential of automation and digital fabrication to improve efficiency, flexibility, and sustainability in housing development. The project aims to encourage discussion among industry professionals, policymakers, and the public about new approaches to the procurement, design, and construction of affordable housing in Canada.
